Welcome to my web site
First published in December, 2009, this space is dedicated to my amateur radio exploits.
My name is Eric Stockenstrom, and I have been an amateur radio operator since 1978. I'm married with two children, and approaching retirement from a carrer in information technology and the fast moving consumer goods industry. We live in Kyalami, a semi-rural area between Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa.
I enjoy an evening with family and friends, a glass of wine and Italian food. I love tinkering with amateur radio and electronics, and despite an overdose of computers still enjoy when all the technologies play sweetly together. For relaxation we walk the dogs along the paths and streams, and enjoy the prolific bird and animal life. I also have a life-long interest in motorcycles, old and new.
Over time I hope to back-publish information on previous projects of interest, but right now my main purpose is to blog the construction and development of Mobo 4.3, a motherboard which integrates variuos support function around the Softrock Software Defined Radio (SDR).
